This performance consisted of two performers walking on opposites sides of the street, one broadcasting to the other with a 1-watt transmitter. The performer receiving would play the transmission on a little receiver with speaker and record his comments on a cassette alongside those coming through the receiver. The performer with the transmitter was also recording. The intent of the performance is to create a kind of electrocuted conversation and to enact a surveillance of the social through the invisible. The performance took place in the center of the city at noon on a business day. The performers interacted with each other and with passersby. We asked them if they've ever felt under surveillance. The two recording were subsequently synced up and broadcast on community radio, left channel-left sidewalk, rightchannel-right sidewalk.


Sous les pavés, la radio. Deux artistes se promène, un sur chaque trotoirs d'une rue. Chaque un a sur lui un émetteur, un récepteur et une enregistreuse. Chaque un amplifie sur le récepteur (avec haut parleur) ce que l'autre diffuse à l'autre côté de la rue. Interaction entre artistes et (surtout) avec ceux qui les croisent. Le fais de communiquer sur la bande FM par ce genre d'interaction évoque plusieurs thèmes: l'électrocution de la conversation (du tête à tête), la surveillance du social à travers l'invisible, et la mystification de l'apparatus radiophonique. Ces thèmes font partie d'une recherche qui a comme sujet: la fusion de la radio et notre quotidien. Diffusion ultérieure de la performance sur un des poste de radio participant au festival. Avec signal stéreo, chaque canal est un des trotoirs.
